• Salasel: Pro-Poor Horticulture Value Chains In Upper Egypt

• Supplier Development Program - MAKRO & GFSI

In 2009 UNIDO/ETRACE has initiated a very successful Supplier Development Programme (SDP) in cooperationwith the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), Michigan State University andMetro Group in Egypt. The programme seeks to upgrade small and medium sizesuppliers, and thus foster their access to national and international market


• Upgrading Fresh Produce Suppliers - MAKRO

This project aims to enhance MAKRO fresh produce suppliers to produceaccording tothe international standards in production techniques, post harvest practicesand food safety regulations, through trainingactivities, technical assistance and field visits for follow up of 800 growers in 4 production locations.


• Upgrading the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Value Chains- Access to Export Markets

The project aims to upgrade the medicinal and aromatic plant sector and its manufactured products in order to increase competiveness of Egyptian exports on international markets, increasing income and creating job opportunities at every step of the supply chain.


• ETRACE, MAKRO and GFSI: Setting a Benchmark for Food Suppliers

• South - South Cooperation

Presenting ETRACE activities aiming to assist developing countries in access to information, best practices andsolutions for agribusiness development and trade focusing on traceability andquality/safety systems to enhance protection of consumers, increase access tomarkets and job opportunities.
